TRAINING VISIT

IMG_5201On January 16 to 20, 2017 the delegation from Scientific Practical Center of Forensic
Medicine, SNPO headed by the Director Mher Bisharyan participated in Study Visit in
Central Forensic Laboratory of Police, Poland. The main purpose of the Study Visit was
to observe and evaluate the ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Quality Management System in
the field of forensic examinations, to review the examination process and proficiency of
validated methods according to ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Quality Management
System. The aim of the study visit was to generate an exchange of experience and
European good practice between the Central Forensic Laboratory of Police and the
Scientific Practical Center of Forensic Medicine, SNPO Armenia.
During the Study Visit the Head of Molecular Genetics Examination Department Marine
Baghdasaryan and Quality specialist of Quality Assurance Department Anna Davtyan
evaluated the process of implementation of ISO 17025, the Quality Manual, design of
SOP’s and validation of methods.
The discussions during the round table with upper management of Central Forensic
Laboratory of Police, Poland were concerning the advantages of maintaining accredited
laboratory by ISO/IEC 17025, international recognition for its commitment to quality,
competency and reliable results, the role of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation with an
internationally recognized standard, in easing the global exchange of valuable
information and overall management of Forensic Centers.
